U.S.-based Petrolern LLC has introduced having been granted $1.2 million in funding for its expertise on real-time acquisition, compression, transmission, and processing of huge subsurface datasets relevant for the oil & fuel, but additionally the geothermal sector from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Petrolern LLC, an Atlanta-based expertise firm, has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the United States Department of Energy (D.O.E.) to additional develop and commercialize its state-of-the-art machine learning-based expertise for real-time acquisition, compression, transmission, and processing of huge subsurface datasets. Developed by Petrolern’s information scientists and subsurface engineers, this expertise has the potential to utterly change how oil and fuel fields and different assets are operated.

Although initially developed for subsurface CO2 plume monitoring, this novel expertise can add important worth to the oil and fuel and geothermal power industries as effectively. This low-cost expertise can drastically improve security and mission profitability and has already attracted the eye of a number of oil and fuel operators, utility firms and fiber-optic expertise corporations.

Petrolern’s CEO, Dr. Hamed Soroush, says, “Dealing with large data sets has been always a challenge for the industry, keeping real-time monitoring and control of subsurface operations, until now, only a dream. I am very proud of our talented team for turning the dream toward reality. This is the fifth such contract we have been awarded in the past two years from government and industry with the objective to improve the accuracy and resolution of subsurface characterization and monitoring. We continue to increase our client-base, and technology partnerships for our R&D activities.”

Petrolern LLC is a modern service and expertise supplier of real-time applied sciences and downhole instruments for oil and fuel, carbon storage and geothermal reservoir monitoring options. It allows safer operations and less expensive resolution making for drilling, completions, stimulation, manufacturing, and storage, and promotes the event of greener power options.
