Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University to begin session in July

Newly established Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University goals to start its first session in July. The college will start its certificates and diploma programs after it will get permission from the space training bureau of the UGC.

Meanwhile, the college has determined the syllabus for the programs and begun the method of hiring academics.

Dr Anita Gill, Dean Academic Affairs, mentioned: “The enrolment of students will begin once the session starts in July. By then, the university will seek permission from the distance education bureau for starting the courses.”

She mentioned the college had handed the syllabus for its programs. “We are going to run a slew of courses under the schools of social sciences and liberal arts, languages, business management and commerce among others. Course material for all such degree and certificate courses was passed at a meeting of the academic council held last week.”

As such, the college will now run various programs, together with certificates programs in digital advertising, rural administration, efficient enterprise and social communication, cyber safety, synthetic intelligence and its software and others together with diploma programs, together with bachelor of science (information sciences) and bachelor in liberal arts.

She mentioned the college additionally maintain an orientation programme for the enhancement of expertise of academics related to the college for preparation of examine materials for the programs. — TNS
